For the first audition line, you are trying to get this person to stop talking to you as quickly as possible. You really believe you are on to something amazing in your latest poem. You don't want this spark of inspiration to suddenly disappear after talking with a simpleton. This person is also someone not worthy of conversing with. He/she would probably lose their mind after hearing your highly enlightened and inspired thoughts on poetry.

For the second audition line, you are subtly bragging about your talents in writing. You want this person to know how privilieged they are to talk to someone as intelligent as yourself. It just brings you such glee to show off your skills and know that you are significantly above average.
