Scale is the adorably violent assassin that's largely responsible for all the things going wrong.  As you get him to open up about himself, he reveals that he is actually very thoughtful and committed, he just feels he has a lot to prove and messing up his first mission has cast doubts on his abilities and motives. Slowly he falls for you, which just deepens his identity crisis, and leading to lots of drama-llama moments in the rain.
