Volks is the grouchy boy that is mean to everyone and that somehow results in everyone liking him. Always with a snide or dismissing remark, he nonetheless manages to endear himself to practically everyone he comes into contact with. The people who consider him a friend (that he doesn't necessarily consider friends) will always say, "Oh, that's just him". Because he's mean all the time, it's like he's never mean.
