[CLOSED] The Misfits (Paid roles) ($150) ($50)
Hayden Hannem for Caleb the Bounty Hunter [Recast]
Accent: North American or Southern accent. Southern accent preferred. Any other accent will not match this character.
Tone: Baritone or Bass. No Tenor (no high) (immediate skip on these).
Age: Should sound believably 45-65 years old. Any auditions that sound like a blossoming college student will be sadly skipped.
Personality:
(this was the old actor's audio)

Reason for recast:
We had to recast this actor because of issues with the audio. About 3 years ago, the audio sounded fine to me. But today, there's a fair bit of sibilance and an unnatural quality to the lines, probably due to compression, the mic itself or the abuse of the Noise Reduction feature in Audacity. I tried contacting the original actor to no avail so I sadly need to recast.
DELIVERY:
Please save a copy of your audition lines as a .wav file so I have them on hand.
LINES:
The audition contains all of his lines in the game
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
If you are already among the actors I have in Brave New World, please note that while I am open to actors reprising more than one role, the voice has to sound very, very different from any other characters you have been cast for and the (distance) of Caleb from your other character must be a substantial distance away. I'm just trying to avoid the sins of Obsidian and Bethesda, where they had characters voiced by the same actor.
AUDITION LINES: Choose any five lines. But these are all of his lines in the game.
[Any auditions that sound like a blossoming college student will be sadly skipped.]
AUDITION LINES: Choose any five lines. But these are all of his lines in the game.
[Please save a copy of a wav file of your audition just in case I need it. Sometimes the best acted lines of an actor are actually in his or her audition]
Heh, so the Garrets sent you to track me down? What a joke.
(Explaining how he does bounty hunting)
{Cold} Be quick and quiet, and don't get dead.
{Annoyed}Do I look like a career counselor, kid? Get lost.
{Irritated}You've got a mouth on you, kid. If I weren't busy working for the Garrets, I might give you a few lessons in common courtesy. Get lost.)
{Tired and unamused}I'd rather not waste the ammo, kid. But, if you insist....then..(threatening voice)...... draw.
{Annoyed}Now why the hell should I do that? You're below me, kid.
{Cold, Deadly serious}I've been killing assholes twice your size since before your mother squeezed you out.
{Annoyed}Piss off.
(The Player is challenging the Bounty Hunter. )
{Cold, snickering}If you think you've got the guts, I'd like to see you try.
(The Player mentions that he just needs your hat to prove that he killed you)
[SUCCEEDED] {Amused}Well, that sounds like a bit of a bargain. I get to walk free with the Garrets thinking I'm dead.
{Amused}Sure, you can have my hat. I can always buy another with the caps I've got left.
{Friendly}It would have been more fun fighting it out, though. See you later, kid.
{Glare} {Deadly serious} (threatening) (ready to kill)
Better get your ass moving before your mouth gets you into trouble, kid.
{Annoyed}Piss off, errand boy.
{Annoyed}Piss off errand girl
(What do you do around here?)
{Cold}Hunting and killing, plain and simple.
(So you’re a bounty hunter?)
{Irritated}Bingo. Now if you're done asking stupid questions, I have more important things to do.
Piss off, kid. We've got no more business to conduct.
Yeah. See ya later
Hey dude! Great acting, but if i can give you a small tip, reduce the Gain on your microphone or in your DAW. You see the lines of your audio reaching the sealing of the box? That's called "Clipping'' it makes your audio to loud and takes away the crispness.
Thanks so much, should i withdraw this and re submit my adition but without the clippping?
That's a tough one! Your acting is pretty good here, so i'd keep it just for the acting. But they are recasting because of "bad audio quality" from the previous guy who did it. So yeah i'd go for a better audio quality and just nail that acting again. If you record, try to keep your volume between -20db and -10db. In the pro Voice over world that's called "the sweet spot" if you record between those levels, you can easely do all the Post- processing without losing any quality.
my guess is that you are just to close to the mic? I can hear alot of mouth noise. If you don't have any professional equipment, try to put your microphone in your closet. the clothes in there will absorb all reflecting sounds and you'll get way better audio. and try to keep your mouth 6-8 inches (15-20cm) away from the mic!
