Monologue Freaky Friday: Great job last week on projection.  Most of you are getting a great grasp on this.Nice to hear the natural emotions coming out of you as you still focus on articulating and watching those unwanted sounds that can come out in each of these consonants’.  Please remember to continue to project, imagining that you are on a stage without a mic and that you need to ensure even the people in the back rows can hear you.

This week, I would like everyone to continue to focus on their posture and breathing when reading. Ensure you are taking big diaphragmatic breaths every time.

  • Peer Review: Please provide at least 1 feedback to someone who has not received a feedback yet on the homework link. Reviewing feedback of others and providing feedback as well is a great way to learn.  Pay attention to the critiques that I am offering as well as there can be lots to learn in there.

  • Have Fun!

Watch your breaths at the beginning. You took a breath or two where I know you had some more in ya! You have a booming voice, which is AWESOME but more projection will allow you more control in directing your voice where you want to land. Reading ahead can help with this too. I heard you trail off on some lines as you realized you weren't familiar with the next foreign name/word. Nice clean vowels! I love your voice, man.

Amber's comments are pretty on the spot. Making sure you have enough air support is important, but try to to inhale excessively as that can cause hyperventilation and makes you get tired quicker. Aim to take a breath right before you would start to feel the need to gasp for air, but not too early either.

Thanks for the helpful comments both of you! I'll keep those in mind!
