Put us in danger?  Are you joking?  You guys are going to be put in even more danger if we don't go.

There's no way we could bring you with us.  But this was also the opportunity of a lifetime.  So our friends, Charles and Grace, offered to take care of you while we were gone.  

Of course we were!  Charles and Grace just decided to use that word with others.
