A no-nonsense, tough, and unfriendly guard at Danny’s shop. He won’t hesitate to beat you to a pulp if you try to pull anything off or just look suspicious.

Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.

For the first audition line, you are being pestered by the main character. You are not being paid enough to talk with customers and you hate talking with customers. You want to still appear professional but at the same time, you want this guy to screw right off. You are also slightly jealous of all the loot and good gear the main character is carrying.

For the second audition line,  you just witnessed the main character kill an innocent person in front of you. You are absolutely surprised and furious that this person would dare commit such an offense in front of you. You are positive this person will die by your hands today. Even if you are one of the most unpleasant people to talk to, you do not tolerate barbarians.

For the third audition line, you realize the person or main character your fighting against is way too strong for your liking. Worried for your own life, you decide its better to risk honour by fleeing than risk losing your life by fighting against this hulk of muscle. This is also surprising to you as rarely have you run away from a battle in fear of the opponent.

  • "I’m here to protect the store from bandits, not talk to snotty customers."

  • "What the hell are you doing?!"

  • "We’re getting overwhelmed here!"

The emotions and characterization are pretty much met. I really liked the audition you gave for Line 2 as you truly captured the disgust and astonishment of the line. However, the main and quite a major issue with your auditions is that the audio quality isn't satisfactory. It could be due to your mic or that you need to work on the audio quality in post. Either way, the mic quality could be improved. Third audition line could also use a tiny bit of confidence. While Tommy is worried, he still is a hired gun and has an adequate amount of confidence.

Alright. I have a Plantronics RIG series headset. Only thing I can afford on a janitor salary. But I can try and invest into something better~

As stated in the requirements section in the project details section of this casting call for Fallout: The Frontier, auditioning voice actors should have mics that are Blue Yeti USBs or of similar quality. Sadly, headset mics don't meet that. If you do plan on making a purchase to improve audio quality, I would recommend a Blue Yeti for just testing the waters and an AudioTechnica AT2020 with a starter audio interface for really getting into it. I would also only recommend making the purchase if you plan on doing more voice acting for other projects in the future.

Alright~ I will try and pick up both when I get paid next week~ thank you for the recommendations!

Just a quick update, don't buy both a blue yeti and an AT2020 with an audio interface. Just buy one of the two. Don't want you wasting money my friend :D.

I have been looking at the AT2020.. I’m gonna get that with a stand and pop filter :D

Ah excellent! Best of luck! I'd also consult another VA to get your recording settings straight.
