I hate to put a damper on everypony's spirits, but doesn't all of this seem just a hair odd? I'd sure like to believe it's just really this easy, but I'm starting to wonder if this is all some ... trap or some such.

Aw, it's nothing I wouldn't do for anypony, Miss Flutterheart, so don't you worry about it. Whoever put it into your head that you weren't worth nice things like this deserves a swift kick in the rump, if you ask me.
