Star Trek, 2009
trashcan for James T. Kirk
The character begins as "a reckless, bar-fighting rebel" who eventually matures. According to Pine, the character is "a 25-year-old [who acts like a] 15-year-old" and who is "angry at the world". Kirk and Spock clash at Starfleet Academy, but, over the course of the film, Kirk focuses his "passion and obstinance and the spectrum of emotions" and becomes captain of the Enterprise. The alternate timeline continues in the 2013 sequel,Star Trek Into Darkness, in which Pine reprises his role.
I do recommend viewing the new Star Trek movies to get a grasp on this version of Kirk.
Your ship is compromised, too close to the singularity to survive without assistance, which we are willing to provide.
What is it like not to feel anger... or heartbreak... or the need to stop at nothing to avenge the death of the woman who gave birth to you?
