Doctor Catherine Halsey is a secondary character in the ARTIFICIAL FAULTS story. A prolific scientist and one of the greatest minds humanity has ever seen, Halsey is best known for her creation of the SPARTAN-II program, a series of augmented supersoldiers. Her appearance in the story relates directly to the main cast, Zero Team, and the effects her actions have had upon them.

Throughout the season, Doctor Halsey's influence is strong, with the main cast of Spartans regularly referencing her. Referenced as both a revered hero and antagonist, Halsey's true reputation is highly conflicted, most of her creations being brought about through less than moral/legal means. Decades later, the fruits of her actions begin to bear, and she must confront them head-on as the plot develops to an unprecedented scale.
