Malia was raised by Orks from infancy and believed that she was one of them, even though she knew she was only a pet. Her biology even mutated from the long exposure to their spores, so she's literally a human-Ork hybrid. This is why her body is so resilient and why she cannot perform miracles with the Emperor's light like her fellow Sisters.
