Personality:

Rose is a caring and resourceful housewife, always finding clever ways to solve problems. She’s kind and quick to help others, but she’s also strong and knows how to stand up for herself. Beneath her warm personality, she has a deep fear of being left alone. She hides this fear behind a determined and calm attitude, even when things are tough.

The moment it all went wrong:

Rose was folding laundry when the power went out. At first, she thought it was a normal outage. Then, she heard screams outside. Looking through her window, she saw people running down the street, chased by something she couldn’t quite see. Her heart raced when she heard banging on her back door. Grabbing the nearest thing—a fireplace poker—she carefully went to check. That’s when she saw her neighbor, bloody and wild-eyed, trying to break in. It was then she realized life was no longer the same.

Her trauma: While escaping her house, rose ran into her neighbor’s yard, looking for a way out. There, she found Mr. Cole, lying on the ground with his legs badly injured. He was still alive, reaching out to her, his voice weak and desperate. “Help me... please,” he begged, his eyes full of terror. Rose froze, unsure of what to do. Before she could act, the infected swarmed him, tearing into him as he screamed in pain. She couldn’t look away, her body frozen with fear. One of the infected turned to her, its face covered in blood, its empty eyes locking with hers. Snapping out of her shock, she ran as fast as she could, barely escaping as it lunged at her. The sound of Mr. Cole’s screams and the sight of him being torn apart haunt Rose constantly. Every time she closes her eyes, she sees his face and hears his voice. She blames herself for not helping, even though she knows she couldn’t have saved him. Now, even the sound of screams or the sight of blood makes her panic, bringing her back to that horrible moment.
