Minor voice role for Marlen, a Soviet steel factory worker in his late 30s, anthropomorphized as a wild boar. He's rather cynical and not easily impressed, feeling like the Soviet reforms of the 1950s are taking the country down the wrong path. He's also not very receptive to the optimism of one co-worker, Laika, who tries to uplift him with the news of Sputnik being such a leap forward. Marlen sees right through her naiveté, and feels that she's being too distracted from the tense political climate around her. Little does he know just how far that's going to go for her in the coming days.
