Stanford "Ford" Filbrick Pines (born June 15, about 15 minutes before his twin brother, Stan Pines, or June 16) is also known as The Author, Great Uncle, or Grunkle Ford. A dedicated paranormal investigator, he came to Gravity Falls, Oregon, to explore the area's high concentration of supernatural phenomena. After years of documenting his findings in a series of journals, Ford vanished into an alternate dimension, leaving his writings as the sole trace of his existence.
