Character Description (Shard)

The original Metal Sonic, Shard evolved beyond his programming. Recognizing Sonic and his friends’ love for each other, Shard sacrificed himself to save them. Luckily, Shard survived and was rebuilt. Now determined to live the life of a hero, Shard joined the Secret Freedom Fighters to support Sonic and his friends from the shadows. He's inherited Sonic's wit and attitude, but struggles with his desire to belong.

Character Description (Metal Sonic)

The newest robot Sonic, Metal Sonic is a killing machine. Having just had a Power Gem installed, Metal Sonic is showing the first signs of individuality, and is determined to prove himself superior to Sonic.

Voice Direction

Both Metal Sonics will have the same mid-deep, confident voice reminiscent of Ryan Drummond's Sonic. However, the performance and cadence is different between the two. Shard's delivery is spunkier, with a playful and cocky attitude similar to Sonic. Unlike Metal Sonic, Shard is sincere, possessing a soul of his own with thoughts and feelings. You can use Chaos Sonic from Sonic Prime as an example for the delivery, though not the exact voice.

Metal Sonic meanwhile should be very robotic and monotone as he is mainly only following his directive. He doesn't have any feelings to get in the way of that. Additionally, while we are going for a Ryan Drummond version of Metal Sonic, it's only the performance from the Metallic Overlord boss fight. We don't want standard Neo Metal Sonic from the rest of the game, as it's too deep and too much of a departure from Drummond's normal Sonic voice. Metal Sonic should still be in that range, just now as the unfeeling, perfected metallic counterpart to Sonic.

You do not need to be totally exact with the performance but it is recommended to be as close as possible. You will also be expected to voice both Metal Sonic and Shard as they have generally the same voice (NOT THE SAME DELIVERY, DO NOT USE ANY FILTERS).
