An older officer in the UNSC Navy with plenty of experience fighting against insurrectionists, and more recently a few engagements with the Covenant. He's generally a wise, rigid and experienced toned man with a keen eye and sense for unusual coincidences. He's fairly distasteful of ONI meddling, a no-nonsense UNSC hardliner, and while he is prepared to battle till the end to complete his missions, he won't push his troops to the end of their ropes, he understands limits.

We lost contact with the cruiser around three days ago, for all we know, there might not be a cruiser left to find.
