Asgore is portrayed in UNDERSONG as a mighty, but emotionally tormented leader who questions his own motives and pushes himself forward through his own internal mantra, never changing, always pushing him to do what he feels must be done. This is NOT Chara, or any supernatural force, but rather his own devotion to his duties overtaking his conscience. However, outside of this, Asgore is a total softy and a caring, kind old ruler. Asgore’s voice should be powerful, oozing bravado and yet quickly able to shift between the voice of a mighty king and a tormented, terrified soul. Must be able to comfortably sing in Baritone to Bass range.
