Alex is an intelligent and thoughtful writer/poet. They always have interesting advice or insight into any situation that they are a part of and are always looking to grow as a person. They are unable to dumb down their language to match their audience and have a tendency to get caught up in the details. They’re quick to give appraisal when someone does something good or when they are complimented. They also have a tendency to eavesdrop on other people’s conversations and are infinitely curious.

Things to keep in mind:

-Speaks intelligently and eloquently

-Uses metaphors and clever wordplay

-Uses passive voice at times and does not use contractions much.

-Androgynous voice

  • (introduction) "Hm, oh, apologies! How lax of me not to take notice of our new guest. You may refer to me by whatever it is you desire. The identity ordained to me whether by birth or by society is of no consequence to me. I would rather be assessed on my body of work and by my own actions and achievements, rather than on such frivolous trivialities."

  • (kind of like a scolding parent but still kind) "I do not condone your actions. I believe it would be no stretch to say that none of us would condone actions such as those, save for a few. You may protest, and if I truly do not see the truth, then I must apologize… pray, pardon me this. You must know that even if it seems Zoya has taken your word at face value, you have not pulled the wool over her eyes."

  • (reminising) Even today, I still do not know which one of us took greater satisfaction in my victory. All my father could say was “Alex. I’m proud of you.” “Alex… my child. I love you.” And so it was thus. The third and final lesson that my father imparted upon me. Persistence is the greatest ingredient of success.
