KIND: An LGBTQ+ Mythical Noir Audio Drama
Ash<3 for Daru
MINOR ROLE
Daru (she/her) works as an assistant to Doctor Ashley Song in the forensic mortuary of Higanbana General Hospital. She is hopelessly in love with her wife, Kimia, and is very friendly and has a roguish charm. However, when she drops her mask, she can be crazed, desperate, and full of toxic anger.
Daru appears in only a couple of episodes, but they are very important and significant appearances.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for an appropriately aged voice (20s to 30s) for Daru. The voice actor for Daru must have acting range and flexibility. They must have the potential to be warm and charming, as well as angry and crazed. There will also be dramatic moments where the actor will be required to scream, cry, and portray pain convincingly. Indian accent preferred.
We'd like to see natural and convincing acting rather than exaggerated or cartoonish - so please keep this in mind while auditioning.
We like to collaborate with our actors to bring characters to life - so bring your own interpretation to the role! Including more than one type of voice is encouraged. Any format (ABC, AABBCC, ABCABC etc) is accepted.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Actors must have no background noise and a quality microphone (prosumer preferred - but any good quality microphone is fine!) when recording. Please limit editing your audition to only cuts and minimising noise.

[Sincere. Friendly] I would like to say thank you for inviting me tonight. We’ve only really met a handful of times, but already you’ve made me feel so…welcome.
[Manic. Smug. Giggling] Look! Look! I have goosebumps! ‘Who is your master’. That’s what you ask them isn’t it? Before you kill them?
[Desperate. Hysterical. Begging] Kimia’s wife. That’s all I ever want to be. I understand how you feel about Giv, because that’s how I feel about Kimia. She is…encompassing. Bigger than everything.
