KIND: An LGBTQ+ Mythical Noir Audio Drama
Larry Weatherspoon for The Director
SUPPORTING ROLE
The Director (they/them) is the director of Eden Orphanage. They are an enigmatic figure in their forties who is often out raising funding for the orphanage through questionable means. They are a flamboyant, flirtatious figure that people don't often take seriously at face value -- until they get to know them. When they do, they might realise that the Director is very calculating, intelligent, and often has good advice to give to their Eden employees.
Children however? They'd like to keep at a distance, thank you. This is why they hired the Eden caretakers, after all.
And no. No-one knows their real name (except Maeve).
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
We aren't looking for any particular aged voice for the Director. While their age may be in the forties, they can be youthful sounding. The voice actor for the Director will need to portray their flamboyant, flirtatious side as well as their serious, wise side convincingly. All genders welcome to audition.
Since the Director is a very flamboyant character, we welcome exaggerated and cartoonish takes, and also the more natural takes.
We like to collaborate with our actors to bring characters to life - so bring your own interpretation to the role! Including more than one type of voice is encouraged. Any format (ABC, AABBCC, ABCABC etc) is accepted.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Actors must have no background noise and a quality microphone (prosumer preferred - but any good quality microphone is fine!) when recording. Please limit editing your audition to only cuts and minimising noise.

[Slightly drunk. Overly friendly] Well, it all smells delightful, but I must run. I have a shit ton of paperwork I’ve let pile up for the past week hehe. Oh, Susu? Your friend is incredibly handsome, by the by. Oh, yes. He was very mysterious. And the blackest black eyes! A girl could fall right into them~
[Amused. Giving sincere advice] When is Susu ever ready to talk when you are? Everyone walks at a different pace. You need to wait for him to catch up.
[Laughs deliriously after putting their elbow in stew] Oops! Hahahaha!
