The daughter of Jake Birch, Madison falls gravely ill in the show's first episode. She's a kind and while also frustrated soul. Sickened by her mother's death and how the system cared so little for her, she will at times argue with her father, Jake, who will try to explain how Scarlet was at a stage where the cancer would've just killed her eventually if her chemo therapy hadn't. Upon falling ill, Madison becomes Jake's number one priority, not wanting her to befall the same fate as her mother before her.
