Izzy grew up in a very conservative immigrant family in what she calls the middle of nowhere. This makes her feel invisible and ghost-like. In “the middle of nowhere”, Izzy is the one of few girls of color and the only openly queer girl. This causes her to feel very isolated, even from her family, and she copes with this isolation by writing. When she is put in the hospital due to her attempt, she loses her spot in a very prestigious university and her entire life is put on hold. Now that she’s been discharged, she attends school with her younger brother Matt (which he isn’t very happy about) and is learning to feel human again.

I do not speak Spanish and would rather this role go to someone who does, but noticed not a lot of auditions so did one just for practice.
