Adult male, video game main character
Joseph David Spence for Voice Actor, adult male aged between 25 and 35
1. VO Talent Info:
Hi! We are looking for an adult male actor (aged somewhere between 25 and 40) speaking in General American accent to portray the main character throughout various stages of his life (from 18 to 46) in our upcoming video game. Since the role includes many dialogues with characters in diverse emotional states, we would like you to use your natural voice.
2. Direction for sample read:
This is a dialogue where the main character (Joshua, aged 45) tries to persuade his wife (Amber, 44) not to leave him, after many years of marriage. He is in a desperate state since his reasoning doesn’t seem to convince her to stay anymore (they talked about these issues many times before), and is switching between different tones, trying to find something that works (or has worked in the past) with her, but to no avail. This dialogue is a crucial point within the story, therefore both characters have to get quite emotional in order for it to have a great impact. For a better understanding of the dialogue, additional directions/guidelines are included within the script.
3. Game description:
Our video game is a sci-fi narrative exploration thriller. You play as Joshua, a neuroscientist who’s lost it all. Driven by a rare neurological affliction plaguing your family, you have to recover your memories by exploring parallel realities through déjà vu. Facing the innermost depths of your past – moments both joyous and painful – seems to be the only way to get your life and family back together. In hopes of untangling the web of memories, you’ll need to face a distressing question - can you really trust yourself?
4. Since Joshua is the main character in our game, this role will be recorded first, so it will set the tone and direction for other roles to follow and adjust to. We need this performance to be charismatic, and evoke empathy within the players, regardless of all the flaws of the main character. More background information on the character(s) to follow after the casting process is over. Thank you!
5. We are looking for a voiceover that will be used in our video game and promotional/marketing materials for the game (worldwide, and in perpetuity).
