Shadow the Hedgehog was created as the "Ultimate Life Form" by Gerald Robotnik. His purpose was to provide ways to develop a cure for incurable deadly illnesses, more specifically for Gerald's granddaughter Maria Robotnik, who he had a great bond with. His mission to protect humanity for the sake of Maria.

    In this series, Shadow usually keeps to himself while working for G.U.N alongside Rouge the Bat and E-123 Omega. He usually butts heads with Sonic the Hedgehog, however, he will never admit the respect he has for him.

    • (Offended) Hmph! I may seem like a loner, but even I like to get out once in a while.

    • (Listening) Commander Tower, what are your orders? Understood. Rouge, Omega, we have our orders. Time to get moving.
