The biggest struggle with this project is trying to describe characters that my mind can't even comprehend.
Chas is, maybe, the villain of this story. It's hard to tell but he is most certainly completely losing his damn mind and has a wonderful monologue. Part of that monologue is in the audition lines.
I can see Chas as anything from The Joker, to meth head Morgan Freeman, to a villainous anime boy, to Nic Cage. Just go for whatever feels right and we will see what happens.
Monologue time!
(with increasing intensity)
Not until we're dead. This is our time, Em. To die. We're going to die together. i am alive in the body of this dead man. Who takes our lives from us, saying to death, "What are your wishes in life?" Your wish is your master.
i shall give you life. But i am not dead! i am moving. i am coming to you. Eyes wide open and dark and blue. Swirling, fierce, flowing, filling the sky. opening with you. But i am not dead! .i am alive.
(standing on a parked airplane screaming into the heavens after throwing The Girl out of a window)
Fierce, flowing. i'm going to be free! i'm going to live, i'm coming. Everything's going to be fine, ok? i'm going to live. i'm coming to you. i'm coming. Swinging, swinging.
(exasperated)
