Claire is Jack's late wife. While she's no longer with us in the present, she has a huge part to play in the story, told in flashbacks throughout the series. Heavily involved with public outreach and nonprofit work, Claire is a hero in her own right, sans the costume. This is her one line for this episode, but in future installments, there'll be much more. (There's a very high likelihood that she'll be the main character of at least one episode in the future.)
She struggles with ADHD. She's a compassionate soul to a fault, especially when it comes to the mental health struggles of others. She's easily distracted, frazzled, prone to high-intensity emotions-- but her intensity is one of her greatest strengths. Everyone around her is drawn to her.
