One can be portrayed anywhere from teen to adult. I am open to interpretations.
One is conflicted with life & can't seem to find a reason to keep going. Most of their lines are delivered with a melancholic tone. They become confused when Shrink begins to question them.
**This short film is from the perspective of One's mind. They are a lost, conflicted soul, portrayed as many things throughout the entirety of the short. They don't understand that Shrink is a psychiatrist, and that they are in fact in a mental hospital, despite the fact that the short is filmed on a beach.**
One: Yeah but, do you ever- do you ever wish that we had something more, like the other things we see? If you would even describe it as seeing.
One: I get so angry sometimes I don’t know what to do. I want to leave. Start again. Not here. Never again.
One begins to panic, almost in tears.
One: I don’t know what you’re talking about, I just want to leave. God where am I? Please- please just stop!
