DYAD (A 2D Animated Series) Trailer Casting **PAID**
Owen for Bruce Riggs
Set Price: 50 cents per line
Accent: North American
Age: 15
Voice Type: Medium-High Male Voice
Singing Range: Tenor
Description: Bruce is shy and a self-proclaimed geek with a huge action figure collection and a fascination with documentaries. He’s very loyal and expects that from others as he doesn’t take betrayal well and is likely to hold a grudge. He always needs a plan of action before entering any situation but will do anything it takes to protect those who he cares about. Even with being shy and timid, he is a lot tougher and braver than what immediately may be shown.
Other Notes: Voice doesn’t crack often and shouldn’t be raspy. Also should be able to be soft spoken and energetic
Audition Song Options:
Santa Fe from Newsies
One Jump Ahead from Aladdin
For Forever from Dear Evan Hansen
Good Kid from The Lightning Thief
1. [straightforward, matter of fact] It just kinda feels like we're stuck in an awkward position with no way to win. Sure, we’re part of this elite family known for doing great things, but we’re also outsiders at the same time...we’re a mix of everything our society loves, and everything they hate. So essentially, we’re the gray area.
[loses his cool out of nowhere, yelling] We are the gray area!!
2. [excited] So, as you can see, this is a really cool opportunity for us, and I have complete confidence that--!
[interrupted by his phone going off, playing a little kiddish sounding ringtone. He is instantly embarrassed, as he is questioned whether or not the device belongs to him]
[flustered] What?! No, that's not mine!
3. (narrating) Live up to the legacy. Protect your people from the prophecy. Always stand by your family. That’s always been our family’s motto, and that hasn’t changed just because society’s changed their opinions towards us.
4. (growling, furious) Give it up Shay, I know you've got her! Lead me to her! (pauses, raises his hands with magic energy between hovering between his fingers) Or do you need a reminder what happened the last time we met?!
5. Please sing one of the audition songs
Hello! I'm Holly, one of the casting directors for this project. First off I would like to say overall you've done a pretty good audition so good job! Because you're new to voice acting I'm going to turn a blind eye to this, but I would recommend recording lines exactly how you would if you had gotten the job. The baby shark song was amusing but not professional, if you did it as an outtake that may be fine but not for every take. Also, I think you have a great voice, just a bit too low for Bruce. I'd love to hear you try out for Jack and Lucan if can! Thank you for auditioning.
I am not trying to undermine the casting director, but there are plenty of times I and others have put audio into our casting auditions. It is no different than making a reel and sending it in to an audition. Reels are not just silent with your voice. Now, this casting director doesn't want that extra stuff, and that is fair enough. I was about to audition but need to take my "Barbie" ring tone out of this now that I know the director doesn't like that kind of stuff. I am curious as to if I am allowed to have the music behind my audio track of me singing.. hmmm..
Audition information above listed to either submit singing audition with no backing track or with a very quiet one. Best of luck!
