King Of The Drylands for Henry

Henry

Unpaid
Role assigned to: Brock Ward

VOICE RANGE/TYPE: Any range. When he appears, he is in a mentally declining state, so his thoughts are very scattered. It should be clear that he is unstable.

PREFERRED ACCENT: Any

FIRST APPEARANCE: Episode 7

DESCRIPTION: When Henry is introduced, we don’t know much about him. It is clear that he had been wandering the Manor’s basement halls prior to the events of the series, and he expresses that he is looking for someone. His mental instability clouds his thoughts and he claims to hear the spirits when they are away. He is a very tortured young man who will eventually have his backstory revealed.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: Henry only appears in a few episodes, but once he is introduced, he is pivotal to the plot. It is very important to display his scattered thoughts and emotions, as well as portray intense emotions such as crying, screaming, and reactions to pain/torture.

  • 1 | Quiet / Frantic / To himself | No, no… it’s been hours, days, maybe even weeks since we saw each other. She’s dead, she’s gotta be, all… skeletal and deformed, bodily fluids slipping through the floorboards, face unrecognizable– (snapping out of it) When did you last see your boyfriend?

  • 2 | Slightly guilty | I know how this looks. [Beat] But… you have no idea how long I’ve been here. You don’t know what this place does to a person.

I love the way you portrayed Henry! The mic quality is a bit poor but other than that you did great! Thanks for auditioning :)

You can buy mics on Amazon for a pretty cheap price--I used a $30 mic for the longest time when I was starting out and it sounded great with a bit of audio editing. Higher quality mics are gonna be more expensive, but can be very worth it. I personally use a Blue Yeti black edition, which can vary in price range depending on the quality you want but can sound great. In the end it definitely comes down to preference and trial/error :)
