[Marvel] SPIDER-MAN: You Want Pants With That? Motion Comic
Wyatt Henry for Leo Zelinsky
LEAD. A small, elderly NYC tailor with a Yiddish/NYC or Brooklyn accent. Affable but soft spoken; passively amused by all the colorful characters he gets to interact with. Casual and unbothered.
Kind of like Larry David but chilled out, but you can try anything that might work.
I see heroes Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays. Bad guys I see Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, I put out Time, Newsweek - the papers.
Tuesday, Thursday - I put out Gun Magazine, Penthouse...
(Calling from the ground up at Spider-Man)
Hey, up there, Mister Bug Guy. Down here. What? You got webs in your ear or somethin? Hello...
(Softly muttering to yourself)
Ah, meshugge~
Do you think you could try something similar without the voice cracking? There's a lot of potential in spots here, and I think the performance works well for Leo in distress, or when he's yelling (like in the second provided line), but not as the baseline. He'd need to be more calm and unwavering (despite his age), and I think this leans a little too much into frail. I did like this a lot, though. Would love to get into it more. Thanks for auditioning!
I think a Yiddish take would suit the character best; it's just not something that is in my current repertoire. I could certainly adjust the performance, but I advise a wait and see approach. I'm sure you'll get a lot more auditions and I already like where mildhot-sauce is going with the character more than what I did. I appreciate the feedback and if you still feel the same when the deadline rolls around, let me know.
