SCIEL, Female, 30 years old
A zen warrior and master archer. Sciel is very laid-back. Having long ago made peace with the harsh realities of their world, she is determined not to stress. She is calm in the face of intense action and prefers a wait and see approach. Sometimes her passivity frustrates others, or makes them think she is not taking things seriously. However, she is firmly committed to their mission and helping their community.
Vocal quality: chill, friendly, unrushed delivery, potentially lower vocal range
LUNE, ETAN, and MAELLE reunite with SCIEL, who has been trapped in the mountains, pinned down by enemies.
SCIEL
Lune! Thank the stars.
LUNE
I knew they couldn’t kill you that easily.
SCIEL
(amused) Not for lack of trying.
LUNE
(looking around the cave) Well. (pause) Well, well, well. What have you discovered here.
Lune walks over to examine the walls, running her hands lightly over the carvings and diagrams.
LUNE
(engrossed) The detail is amazing.
SCIEL
Someone was here a long time ago studying the Nevrons. Could it be your parents? Or another expeditioner?
SCIEL
(shrug) The Paintress is dormant most of the year. Makes sense she’d have help.
LUNE
(shakes head) The Paintress can wipe away an entire cohort of our people with a brush stroke. Why would she need protection from us? And why not just turn everyone to smoke all at once, if that is her goal? There’s something else going on.

Wait. I hear something.
LUNE
NEVRONS! RUN!!
ETAN
PUTAIN!
SCIEL
Maelle, behind you!
MAELLE
(loud grunt / forced exhale as she lifts sword to block an attack)
HUU-UGH! FUCK!
ETAN
(roar as he charges in to help MAELLE)
EUU-AAHHH!
LUNE
(summons her spirit animals and commands them)
TAKE THEM!
SCIEL
(steadily shooting arrows, urgent / intense but not frantic)
Three more approaching west!
