~Rise From The Ashes ~: Artists and Supporting VAs (ADDITIONAL ARTISTS STILL OPEN - More roles TBA)
sepiasunshine for Krissy
Summary: Krissy is a cheerful, bright and determined fifteen year old teen. They're pretty curious, adventurous and get excited by the idea of trying out new things. That being said, they do bear some notable apprehension and doubts under the surface, especially given their lack of memories before their admittance into the 'hospital', but they just take a deep breath and keep fighting on as best as they can. Krissy is a determined goal-getter and always tries to see the best in things, being pretty optimistic and fighting on. ...They like to be pretty creative and love to make art, but complex puzzles and maths are not...quite as fun for them. They can also be a bit stubborn in wanting to do things their way at times (especially for subjects they feel passionate about), but it's all to achieve the best eventual outcome. Unlike a lot of the main cast in the story, they have no powers, so can't help but feel a little intimidated and in awe of those who do have them. They first meet Ash whilst being held captive at the institute and after escaping with him and the others, they loyally stick by his side and seek to work together with the aim to put an end to the illegal and horrifying activities that go on behind the closed doors of Voss's facilities and find out what really happened to them. However, such horrors may extend even further than that...and Krissy can't help but feel a...deeper connection to Ash somehow. ...But why?
Appearance: Arc I (Lead)
Personality: Friendly, Creative, Caring, Optimistic, Bright, Cheerful, Curious, Adventurous, Energetic, Apprehensive and a little Doubtful
Voice: Androgynous and bright, mid-pitch. They should be able to sound optimistic and warm, but also pack some emotion behind the harder lines. Some of their lines will require screaming and near hysterical states. Therefore a good voice range is best if you don't mind doing this.
Note: Krissy is non-binary and is referred to throughout the story with 'They' or 'He' pronouns, as by their preferences. Therefore their role is open to anyone to audition, but we do love diversity amongst our cast and staff and strongly encourage any non-binary VAs to give the role a shot!
[Gasp] …! Y-You…! I...Y-Yes! I heard you! C-Can you hear me? [Clearly relieved] Oh thank God! I was...I-I was afraid I’d just imagined it…[Relieved and grateful] Thank you so much for replying to me. I was actually starting to worry that I uh...might be losing it. Honestly, I really wasn’t expecting a reply, so it was...quite a scare, aheh. Sorry if I scared you too. Anyway...I'm Krissy. I think…[Pause] Well, that's the name engraved on my lucky bracelet, so...yeah, that's what I go by.
[A little awkward and embarrassed] H-Hey, don’t look at me! Numbers aren’t…exactly my strong suit. [Shaking it off to become optimistic]…But come on, we’re not going to let some stupid puzzle just mock us like that, right, Ash? Let’s put our brains together and figure out this code thingie…uh, whatever it might be. [Added on after a pause] Preferably before the guards notice we’re missing…
[A little sad and apprehensive] ...Same really. It’s kinda hard to sleep knowing you could be torn awake at any time. Besides I…[Quietly] I don't want to miss a moment around me. …[Sad sigh] I don't really have many crystal clear memories of anything before...that place...so all of this...it's almost like experiencing it again for the first time to me. [Slightly lamenting] If only I had my sketchbook, I could capture it all on paper...like that cute little firefly there, or the way the moonlight shines on that small lake...
[Hushed and slightly threatening, clearly angry and with the upper hand] ...Now are you going to answer my question, you pathetic idiot? [Satisfied]....Good. Then tell me [Slightly hissed, each word enunciated] Where. Is. He? [Slight scoff] Oh, I think you know exactly who I mean...so tell me where he is right now…[Casually, with threatening undertones] or we can do things the harder way. It’s your choice. I really don’t care. [Determined] But I am getting him out of here and you can do nothing to stop me!
[Gasping in pain, coughing and clearly in agony] Nygaaah! [Panting and coughing] A-Ash…! H-Help... me! ...P-Pain...getting...w-worse…! [Lightly sobbing in confusion and terror] Nnngh....I-I can’t…! I…! I-I…! [Pained sob] H-Help...
[Softly and trying to be comforting] Uhuh. If you think about it, we’re in a similar cycle too, Ashy... sort of. [Attempting to be optimistic] I mean, look how far we’ve come! Even after everything so far…and we’re going to keep on fighting! [Determined] We can do this! Every day may be a battle through the... trauma…[A little shaky and uncertain] a-and I know it’s still probably far from over yet, but …[Deep breath, speaking quite deeply] just like that phoenix, you will rise from the ashes too. You shouldn’t have to constantly live in fear like this. No one labelled 'different’ ever should! [Sincerely, building up] So...dismiss the doubters, pummel the persecutors and come out stronger and brighter than before to show your true and amazing self to the world - because you are amazing...[Emotional, soft and completely genuine] a-and you’re...you’re my amazing friend. [Softest, almost a whisper]...My hero.
Hi there Sepia! Thank you so much for auditioning for our project, it really means a lot to us! I'm so happy that you tried out for Krissy, I hope you were able to relate to them on some level. The multiple takes were much appreciated and great to give a flavour of the different interpretations of the lines you could give! :D I really enjoyed your audition for them! :D You gave Krissy a really nice voice, pretty close to what I envisioned for enthusiasm, pitch and how it carried. You had some great emotion in there, nice tone and pacing and it sounded really good! Honestly, I'm getting a little scared of the decision I have to make because there's some amazing apps for my kiddo, yours included :D The ominous lines were delightful to listen to, as were the contemplation lines in part 3, so that was really nicely done :D And don't worry I didn't hear your AC in the background at all, so no worries there, don't worry about that at all, comfort first. It didn't affect your performance one bit anyhow! :D There's not much feedback I can give to improve honestly, maybe just a tad more enthusiasm here and there (especially the phoenix line), a little more defensive at the beginning of line 2 and really don't be afraid to let the ominous anger out in line 4 - but besides those nitpicks, that's it! Thanks so much for your audition Sepia and have a lovely day - I hope it's cooler for you! :D
aaa thank you!
