Role assigned to: StormRed

Summary: Erick is a soft and deep down kind-hearted eighteen year old boy, who seems to have become...apathetic to his unfortunate circumstances. He used to be a normal teenager, even though life wasn't great. However, that all changed since his abduction by Fetch at just fifteen years old and when his own father refused to pay his ransom, Erick turned to his only company for consolation - his abuser and abductor. Eventually he agreed to let Erick stay as his accomplice, but their relationship is again, far from straight forward. He sees his purpose to be Fetch’s accomplice, get through each day with whatever task they have to do next and doing his best to help out. After all, if he doesn’t or if he makes mistakes (or sometimes for no reason besides catching Fetch in a bad mood) then Fetch takes his frustrations out on him. He’s used to being talked down, ordered about and abused. It’s just normal for him now. He gets on with the job, wanting to please Fetch - and he does do a good job, learning several of Fetch’s ‘trade tricks’ and proving to be a useful accomplice. Despite that, he does feel sorry for the victims and has genuine care and concern for them, taking it upon himself to reassure them and offer small comforts. He’s very smart in maths, practical and rather resourceful, but try to insist Fetch is the bad guy and he’ll defend him and even make excuses for him. Indeed, the poor lad hasn’t come out of this too well. In short, he's a young man who knows when the line has been crossed and he will speak up for what he believes in if he feels brave enough. At times he can be a little sarcastic and bratty, much to Fetch's annoyance. On the whole though, he obeys the rules, although their latest 'job' is something he isn't quite sure of...

Appearance: Arc I (Ch 9 onwards) Arc II (occasional appearances~)

Personality: Soft, Sensitive, Caring, Obedient, Submissive, Friendly, a little Apathetic, Quiet, Apprehensive, Intelligent, occasionally Sarcastic and Practical

Voice: Quiet and soft, with a mid- pitch. He should sound quite submissive when following orders and doesn't tend to raise his voice too often lest Fetch get mad. He's very used to the rule 'speak when spoken to' and may speak with a slight stammer when anxious, but as he has become more apathetic to his 'role', his voice would do well to reflect that. That being said, Erick can get a little snappy and sarcastic if you catch him in a mood, but also a little panicky if he thinks he is in for being 'taught a lesson' or trying desperately to calm a furious Fetch down.

Disclaimer: Erick belongs to the super brilliant Maxy, co-director of the project. As such, they will be deciding who the final role goes to, so good luck~ Placeholder artwork also belongs to the amazingly talented scarletfish8eta on Deviantart!

  • [Apologetically, slightly awkward and a little hushed] I... can't untie you and I can't tell you that...Sorry, I'm not really supposed to be talking to you right now and...he can get really mad if you break his rules. [Pause]...But I can uh, give you something to drink if you want. You must be pretty thirsty, right? ...Come on. Let me help you sit up.

[In pain and afraid] Nngh! Ow! I-I'm Sorry, Fetch! I just...please hear me out...Sir. [Quietly, but trying to sound confident] Ash wasn’t lying about what he said earlier. Those people sound really dangerous - and they do...horrible things behind the scenes. You have rules and boundaries yourself. You can’t just send them back to that crazy doctor to do who-knows-what kind of freaky experiments on them!

  • [Surprised, a little lost for words, but touched] O-Oh uh, thank you! It's nothing really, I just...math is one of the few things I'm pretty good at. There's just something about numbers and puzzles that really attracts me. [Brighter]...Hey, maybe after we've finished chores for the day I can teach you both a little, if you want.

  • [Thoughtfully] I dunno, it's just been me and Fetch for such a long time. Travelling here and there, carrying out this job or that job, take the money and move on to the next thing. [Softly] It's...been a while since I had someone else to really talk to besides Fetch. Since I had friends like you and Krissy...It feels nice. [Returning to casual tone, with a hint of warning] ...Anyway, we should hurry up with getting the extra supplies he asked for. He really doesn't like to be kept waiting.

[Quietly, a little afraid]...Y-Yeah, Fetch does...hurt me sometimes...but it's only to teach me a lesson. [In clear denial, trying to make excuses] It's only because I...deserve it. I mean, rules are there for a reason and if you don't follow them, you face punishment. It's only right. [Resolute] It's...my own fault if I ask too many questions, speak back to him or somehow mess up. [A little conflicted]...But then he also feeds me, keeps me and looks after me if I get sick. He actually tolerates me being around…[Bitterly] unlike my real dad. [Admirably] ...Fetch is...he's more of a dad to me than he was.

Hiii ghost lung! Sorry for the slightly late response, but thank you so much for auditioning for Erick! You did a really neat job on him and I enjoyed your take a lot! You got his softness down really well in a lot of places, the fear was beautiful, the subtle warnings at not 'keeping Fetch waiting', making excuses and throwing in a few laughs to show how 'normal' the jobs have become to him. It was really lovely work with great pacing and tone :D Only slight bit of nit-picking I'd do is for there to be a tiny bit more hesitation and awkwardness in the first line perhaps :) Also the second line can be said more fearfully and meekly like you did, or with a bit more sass and confidence. I'd definitely be interesting hearing what the second version would sound like, so if you wouldn't mind redoing those first two lines then that would be brilliant! Maxy will be having a look at the auditions soon too so they can pass on some of their own feedback too! Thanks so much again Ghost and have a lovely day! :D

Thank you again for your wonderful feedback, Abbie! Sorry I'm late, I worked a double last night and CRASHED right after so I couldn't record! I super appreciate your suggestions, and I'll definitely be trying them out and resubmitting! :D Thank you for always giving everyone audition feedback as well! Not a lot of directors do, so when we get it, especially so detailed like you do, it's very greatly treasured<3

Awwww no need to apologise Ghost, you must be exhausted! :'( You're more than welcome for the feedback (just sorry if it sounds nit-picky I just like giving people the best chance XD) Yeah, I noticed the sad lack of feedback. I've gotten feedback twice in the grand scheme of the 80 auditions or so I've submitted so...yeah XD I'm so happy it's helpful though. The real thanks comes to you guys for giving us a chance and putting your all into voicing our precious characters. Anyway, I look forward to that re-take but please do take your time, especially if you're tired! :D take care until then, Ghost! :D
