Having stayed on from the previous six-month shift, Jack Hatcher’s life back home is one of mystery, but he keeps the crew amused enough during work so they don’t ask. His cocky and devil-may-care attitude quickly grates on the crew, though his fellow engineer Armitage is a firm friend during the work-hours. Hatcher’s outlook takes a turn for the worse as the story goes on, eventually threatening the trust of the crew.
What I’m looking for: Generally comedic and laidback, but keeping a darker undertone throughout. Hatcher’s paranoia and opportunism often gets the better of him, brewing ideas that could get the whole crew in danger - this aspect is key.
