Unchanging Love (MLPFiM fanfic adaptation)
kaus21 for Long Scroll
Long Scroll is the (male) pony disguise of the (female) changeling Skitter. He is this month's host of the monthly meetings of the changelings of Hoofington. (They meet at the house of whoever is most available that month.) He likes tea. Long Scroll has five lines.
[greeting Sweet Leaf and Bobby Pin as they arrive] Sweet! Bobby! It's so nice to see you again. Come on in. ["Long Scroll. It's been a while."] That it has and what a great time to have a nice, friendly get-together! The others are in the living room. I'll be in there in a few after I get tea and cookies ready.
[singsong] ♪ Who wants tea and cookies?♪
All right, everyone that's going to be here is here. [...] As such, all the doors are locked and the blinds shut. [exasperated, Warm Plate says "It's about time, Skitter." Annoyed, he replies...] Don't you "Skitter" me.
In the beginning, he is saying hello to two characters: Sweet Leaf and Bobby Pin. You said "sweet, Bobby!" as if you were only talking to Bobby Pin and saying it was "sweet" to see her. Additionally, you didn't do "Who wants tea and cookies?" in a sing-song voice. You jumped around a lot between different voices, making it difficult to keep track of the different voices you were trying. Lastly, you didn't have the right inflection on "Don't you 'Skitter' me!" That's Long Scroll (actually Skitter) telling Warm Plate (actually Tarsus) "Hey, don't use my real name like that!", basically.
Thank you for the feedback. I'm very new to character voice auditions. I will take these notes and Improve for my next auditions. Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me what I need to work on.
You're welcome. Since you're new, I would also suggest you check out Dee Bradley Baker's website for aspiring voice actors: https://iwanttobeavoiceactor.com/ (He has a separate personal website for promoting himself and his portfolio.)
Thanks Also I wanted to ask how is my sound quality? Im woking on my sound booth but wanted to know if sound clear to others before its built.
I think your sound/microphone quality is fine. Not amazing, but not horrible, either. I encourage you to listen to some of the other auditions here for some examples.
