A human child who appeared in the world of Monsters long before the protagonist, and met an unhappy fate.
They are more of a neutral character in this interpretation; not cruel, but not an exceptional person.
They don't remember much of their life initially and, throughout the show, must connect the pieces to find out how to free the benevolent Monsters from the Underground world they have been banished to.

Don’t be afraid, I am only here to thank you. My lame is Chara, I used to be a human like you.
Well… yes, used to. The thing is… I died. And I seem to be back again, though I don’t understand why... I suddenly woke up to see you, fallen on the flowers, just like me when I fell into the Underground.

You’re a human, right? Humans are very peculiar creatures: their soul holds more magical energy than they know what to do with. You mustn’t have heard… Humans forgot about their magical gift long ago, and I just have a feeling that it was the magic from your soul that brought me back.

I love your voice, though why does the audio sound like it's snapping between loud and quiet randomly? Is that normal?
I'm so sorry about that. It happens sometimes when I record myself singing. I can definitely fix it if you want me to submit another audition, though!
please do! I'd love to hear your audition again. If i'm to give direction, try to make the delivery of their lines a little less quiet, too ^^
