Beetlejuice the Musical: Songs + Scenes
Snoobert for Delia/ Miss Argentina
MEZZO-SOPRANO
Delia is ever the idealist. She lives life in the most optimistic fashion, even when she has no idea what is going on. She is confused more often than not, which does not allow her to mix well with quick-witted Lydia. She was hired to be Lydia’s life coach to cope with the loss of her mother. Throughout Delia’s time with the Deetz family, she begins a relationship with the head of the household, Charles.
The actress playing Delia doubles as Miss Argentina for one scene only. Miss Argentina tells the story of her life before death and what she would do different if she knew then what she does now.
Please only read the D lines
D: But Charles, you're under so much stress, you must relax. Rember what my Guru Otho says-- "Every success begins with Sucks... but ends with... Yes" (almost a sneeze) SucksYes!
C: Mmm. (Impulsively embrace, horny teenagers making out when the adults aren't looking) Oh God, Delia... you erotic astronaut. You smell like the bathrooms at the Mandarin Oriental...
D: I use their soap (Charles Kisses Delia, then breaks away)
C: No. We have to stop. What if Lydia walks in?
D: Maybe we could... tell her? About us?
C: She's to fragile (breaks away) Focus, Delia, we have to focus. You are here to help my daughter, to be her-- what do you call yourself again?
D: A life couch!
C: Right. And what's that mean?
D: Almost anything!
