Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.
For the first audition line, you want the courier to know quickly you are not to be trifled with even if you have an air of sophistication in the way you carry yourself. Even when people aren't speaking, you know what they are thinking.
For the second audition line, you are quite annoyed at this interruption of your work of interrogation but quickly compose yourself and go back to your usual calm, commanding, and calculating self. Emotions give away your inner thoughts and weaknesses, and that you can't have.
I'm not like the typical wasteland reject, Courier. I learned to become a doctor when I was very young. Do you know why? It wasn't because I desired to heal the wastes of its afflictions, but because I wanted to cleanse them. Being a doctor means you know exactly where to apply pressure to induce the utmost pain. Pain the average human mind cannot comprehend.
Can’t this wait? I’m a little busy right now.
Much better. Preferred Take 1 of Line 2. Take 3 of Line 2 is particularly way too flamboyant.
Alrighty, so the character is very monotone in general? Like in a low register most of the time.
It's not monotone, more so in control of the situation. My note was also only directed towards just one particular take and the mention of one extreme (flamboyant) does not mean I'd prefer the opposite end extreme (monotone).
So in a sort of Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars way.
Yes, he could be used as a reference.
So do you want another recording?
That's up to you. Feel free to do so if you're still interested in the role and if it's submitted before the deadline.
