About stitchfan93
Who am I?
I am but one of millions in the world today. Every one of us is special and unique in our own way, with our own history, strengths and flaws. Growing up as the middle child in a traditional Chinese family in Malaysia, I have my own unique background but growing up, one of the definite things was that I was different. When one is deemed different in a society that expects certain things out of you, that will usually lead to challenges.
Like being looked down for struggling with Chinese and Math despite being an Asian Chinese. Still, rather than succumb to society’s expectations I embraced my own identity and managed to overcome all these obstacles with tenacity, support from others and my own strengths.
Like being blessed with the ability master the English language and my ability to quickly understand scientific theories and facts helped me to stand back tall whilst my peers struggled with both aspects.
As a fresh university undergraduate, my goal in life isn't to become super famous or rich but to make a difference. Many people today often pursue their dreams for the wrong reasons, for example becoming a doctor for the sake of becoming rich instead of saving lives.
There is nothing wrong with being ambitious, just that it's also important to not forget essential human values such as compassion and empathy.
Willing to take on any task or challenge in my quest to help make my mark in the world today. After all, we only live once so why not make the most of it right?

"It's all about decisions isn't it? Decisions made in a hurry, made with the heart instead of the head....or vice versa. Sometimes those decisions take a long time to have repercussions. But there are repercussions. There are always repercussions." - Curator, Man of Medan (2019)
